ECAS is organized in four kinds of work committees: permanent committees, field committee, territorial committees, vocal groups and working groups. The first three kinds are permanent and made up of professionals of the member organizations of ECAS working in such field or territory.

The Standing Committee is made up of a small number of people from the Board of Directors who, on a proposal from the Presidency, collaborate with it and help in the management actions. In addition, it has the function of being bond and connected with the rest of established committees. It is made up of 5 to 7 people, including the treasurer, the secretary and the vicepresidents.

The rest of the commitees are constituted at the request of the organizations members of ECAS to work in a group and in a continuous way an specific area of intervention, either a) sectorial / thematic or b) territorial. The sense of these committees is based on responsible participation, stable over time and equipped with a transparent and serious methodology. It is the natural space of ECAS for the analysis, the generation of documents, the production of technical proposals and the elaboration of the position of the federation according to its fields of action. Anyone being part of any of the member entities of the federation may take part in a committee.

At present, there are five field committees:

  • Job placement program
  • Immigration
  • Penitentiary
  • Families
  • HIV/AIDS and social exclusion

The purpose of field committees is to channel discussion, supply materials and make proposals to deal with the social problems we want to tackle from ECAS. As experts on different topics who work on the ground, closely, from services of direct attention through their organizations, the members of our committees channel the information toward the federation, and have a network of secondary level to deliver to institutions and other social agents any detected need or problem, as well as our contributions to improve the situation. The autonomy of these committees allows for a commitment to achieve, in the long term, a model of participative management system.

The axes of strategic interest of the organization define the vocal groups, through which the operational action of the Board of Directors is structured. Some of the axes have a permanent nature and others respond to short-term needs, so the vocals are not permanent, but of a dynamic and changing nature. The objective is to boost the Board’s action in operational terms and cover all areas in which the associated entities require a joint intervention, led by the federation. The person in charge of a vocal group (the spokesperson) is a member of the Board of Directors, but any entity thas has special interest and specific expertise in the own field of the vocal group can be part of it.

The working groups are established by the Board of Directors. They are constituted by representatives of different entities of the organization, of an occasional nature, in response to the need to work on a specific and timely topic. They must be generated by specific request of any of the organizational units of ECAS: Assembly, Board of Directors, Vocals or Commissions. Once the assignment has been completed, the results of the work must be reported to the unit that promoted the group and, in principle, the groups is dissolved.
